September Predictions Wrap-up

It’s already mid-October, but we wanted to circle back to our September race predictions. For the month of September, we only did predictions for the first two rounds of the World Cup. From here on out, we will run predictions of various races every weekend. At the end of each month we will tally things up to see how we did.

Our points system is very simple. If we correctly predict a rider and their place we get two points. If a rider lands on the podium, but not in the spot we predicted we get one point. Therefore, we can get a maximum of six points per race.

For the month of September we predicted both the men’s and women’s races at the first two rounds of the World Cup. We could earn six points per race. We predicted four races so our maximum total is 24 points. Lets see how we did:

The Results

It was not a good start to our predictions. We use an algorithm called guessing ?. Since they were the first few races of the season, we knew things would be off. But we tried.

Out of a total of 24 points we got six. We didn’t get a single place right. For both men’s races we got two riders on the podium correct and for the women’s races we got one rider on the podium correct.

Hopefully we have better luck in October. We are going to start this weekend by predicting day one of Charm City Cross and the first round of the Superprestige in Gieten.
